Grain Producers SA’s (GPSA) proposal to modernise the system through which funds are collected for the Grain Industry Fund (GIF) and Grain Industry Research and Development Fund (GIRDF) has now come into effect following majority grain producer support.

A record number of applications for funding were received this year by the South Australian Grain Industry Trust (SAGIT), with 21 new grains research projects successfully securing a portion of the trust’s $2.6 million investment in 2024.
Applications are now open for the next round of research and grower group funding through the South Australian Grain Industry Trust. Research applications for projects that directly benefit South Australian grain growers and the wider grain industry are encouraged.
