Next-generation rhizobial inoculation systems to improve nitrogen fixation in lentil (UAD2526)

START

July 1, 2026

FINISH

June 30, 2028

Summary

The goal of this project is to develop next-generation rhizobial inoculation systems for lentils by integrating advanced seed-coating technologies with climate-adapted plant growth-promoting bacteria. The project aims to deliver pre-inoculated, ready-to-sow lentil seeds that maintain rhizobia viability for extended storage periods of weeks to months, is compatible with pesticide treatment, and ensures reliable nodulation and early crop vigour under dry-sowing conditions.
