Uniform seed distribution to increase yields and reduce seed costs (NSS17)
Improving fertiliser efficiency and reducing disease impacts using fluid delivery systems (S614)
Applying fertiliser, fungicides or micronutrients in granular or spray form at blanket rates may not achieve optimal results for different crops or locations. Variable-rate fluid delivery systems for fertiliser, micronutrients and fungicides were trialled on the Eyre Peninsula on wheat and canola to assess yield and economic outcomes.
Improving nitrogen use efficiency via legumes in high rainfall cropping (AKI116)
The N fixation abilities of legumes on Kangaroo Island were assessed over three growing seasons.
High Rainfall Zone Canola Variable Rate Nitrogen (VRN) Project (ELD118)
Investigating the accuracy of NDVI and NDRE in detecting canola response to nitrogen to create a variable rate map.
Dual-purpose Canola For South Australia’s High Rainfall Zone (SARDI315)
Management of dual-purpose canola crops to maximise profitability by testing time of sowing and varieties.
Improving Canola Establishment (S1113)
Trials were conducted comparing sowing time, depth, rate and seed size on four sites on the lower and upper Eyre Peninsula over three years.
Evaluating clethodim tolerance in canola (S0713)
This research has shown that clethodim can severely impact the growth, development and grain yield of canola. These effects are amplified with increasing herbicide rates and applications at later canola growth stages. Not all canola varieties are affected to the same degree.
